Despite Deborah’s numerous attempts to distance herself from Cavalcante, he vehemently resisted, resorting to threatening her with violence if she dared to end the relationship.
On April 25, 2021, a tragic and horrifying event transpired when Danelo Cavalcante launched a brutal attack on Deborah.
In her Schuylkill Township home, in the presence of her terrified children, Cavalcante subjected her to a merciless assault, inflicting a total of 38 stab wounds using a kitchen knife.
Cavalcante escaped from the crime scene but was captured by law enforcement the day after the incident. In his confession, he pointed to his apprehension about Deborah potentially disclosing his connection to a 2017 murder case in Brazil as the driving force behind this horrific act.
On August 16, 2021, a verdict was reached in the case against Cavalcante, leading to his conviction on charges of first-degree murder. Consequently, he received a sentence of life imprisonment with no opportunity for parole.
Nevertheless, in a surprising turn of events, less than a fortnight later, he managed a daring escape from Chester County Prison.
His audacious breakout involved scaling a prison wall and navigating through razor wire, setting off a comprehensive manhunt that engaged multiple law enforcement agencies.
