For his undergraduate studies, Dr Herbosa enrolled at the University of the Philippines, where he pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and graduated cum laude.
At the university, he engaged in multiple activities and societies, including the Upsilon Sigma Phi, Pre Med Honor Society, Pre Med Society, UP Zoological Society, and the Varsity Track and Field Team.
Dr Herbosa pursued postgraduate studies in Medicine, specializing in General Surgery, at the University of the Philippines to further enhance his medical knowledge and expertise. He completed his residency in General Surgery at the renowned Philippine General Hospital.
Continuing his quest for knowledge, Dr Herbosa began postgraduate studies at Tel Aviv University, focusing on General Surgery, Trauma, Prehospital Care, and Disasters.
He also pursued an International Diploma in Emergency and Crisis Management at the University of Geneva, delving into topics such as Disaster Risk Management, Public Health in Disasters, and Mass Casualty Management. During this time, he was honoured as a WHO Fellow/Scholarship recipient.
Dr Herbosa’s dedication to education extended beyond his own studies. He authored a thesis during his International Diploma course at the University of Geneva, titled “The Incorporation of Disaster Medicine and Emergency Preparedness in Undergraduate Medical Education in the University of the Philippines,” showcasing his commitment to advancing medical education in his home country.
Dr Herbosa rounded out his educational journey with an MD from the University of the Philippines. While at the university, he held leadership positions, including President of the UP Pre-Med Society and Vice President of the UP Pre-Med Society.
